Charles J. Vekas Jr.
August 11, 1937 - March 3, 2018

Charles J. Vekas Jr., 80, residing in Sandusky and formerly of Stockport, OH, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 surrounded by his family at the Ohio Veteran's Home after a brief illness.

Chuck was born on August 11, 1937 in Cleveland, OH to the late Charles J. Vekas Sr. and Dorothy (Mihalik) DeCarbo.

Chuck was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy who proudly served his country as a photographer during the Korean Conflict from 1954 to 1959. He retired from Atlas Crankshaft in Fostoria, OH and was a volunteer for Washington-Morgan County Community Action Transportation Services. In his spare time, Chuck enjoyed photography, farming and woodworking.

Chuck is survived by his children, Steven (Kelly) Vekas of Collins, OH, Cindy (Randy) Althaus of Wayne, OH, and Tammy (Frank) Bulman of Gatlinburg, TN; grandchildren, Joe and Tim Vekas, Sunshine Vekas, Jeremy Graham, Brandon and Josh Althaus, Misty Gibson, and Steven and Kathy Bulman; brother, Donald (Jackie) Vekas of Chagrin Falls, OH; sister, Diane (John) Harmon of VA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Chuck is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy A. (Taylor) Vekas; son, Chucky Vekas; and siblings, Michael and Donna.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at a later date on the family farm in Stockport, OH.
