Mildred Elizabeth (Bores) Smith, 89, of Sandusky, passed away Thursday morning, February 21, 2013 at her residence. Mildred was born August 6, 1923 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Theodore Anthony “Walter” and Anna Marie (Hall) Bores. Mildred graduated from Sandusky High School in 1942. She was employed by Apex for 15 years. Mildred was a member of Holy Angel’s Church, Church Woman United, Bereavement Committee, and the telephone prayer line. Upon waking every morning, she devoutly prayed for all members of her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Mildred is survived by her two children, Gregory (Teresa) and Randy (Janet) Smith; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jean Kromer; many loving nieces, nephews, and other family members. Including her parents, Mildred is preceded in death by her husband Oma Richard Smith and her siblings, Robert and Margaret Bores. Friends may call on February 25th, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, OH. 44870. Prayers will be recited on Tuesday February 26 at 9:30AM in the Funeral Home followed by a 10AM Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Angels Catholic Church 1605 W. Jefferson St. Sandusky, Ohio. The Rev. Joe Steinbauer will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
